Malta is a small island in the centre of the Mediterranean sea, and its central position is also represented within the regulated gambling industry. In light of its removal from the grey list in 2022, Malta remains firmly the most attractive location for the world’s largest iGaming companies so far.

Having legalised online betting back in 2004, Malta is now home to over 300 iGaming companies. Those operating under a Malta Gaming Authority licence have as many as 36.2 million active player accounts.

The iGaming sector alone accounts for 8 per cent of Malta’s gross domestic product, approximately 72 million Euro, a turnover of more than 900 million Euro!
