The many gaming and betting companies in Malta can breathe a sigh of relief. The island in the middle of the Mediterranean where the world’s most important iGaming companies are based is no longer in the eye of the storm regarding money laundering.

The signs had already been very positive for months, as the Maltese government and Maltese institutions had been working hard to get out of this situation.

The European Financial Action Task Force broke the news on 17 June. iGEN founder Enrico Bradamante, satisfied with the work of the Maltese institutions, urged them not to lower their guard and to further strengthen their controls on money laundering and financial crime.
